Rock of Ages is a design studio project which focuses on addressing rising sea levels in Boston Harbor. The concept of the project is to embrace the impending erosion from 2030 to 2100. Rather than fighting the erosive qualities of uncontrolled climate change, it is intended to invite the change in the site landscape to instill an environment of recreation and play. Each block comprises a combination of modules that are constructed on concrete pontoons. Each block is also a self-sustaining unit in terms of services. This allows the blocks to separate and float individually when erosion occurs.
